Rudl's Mission
Statement:
The purpose of Rudl Fencing & Decking is to be an area leader in providing quality
outdoor products and services to our customers with a commitment to customer satisfaction
and high ethical standards.
Rudl's History:
John Rudl began the business in 1942 at its present location on Rt. 31 north of Clinton,
NJ. Initially, he installed mostly horse and farm fencing in Hunterdon and near-by
counties. As the business expanded, Rudl began offering other types of fencing as well as
decking material, becoming the first distributor to bring wolmanized wood to Hunterdon
County. Under the direction of John's son, Tony, the business developed a national market.
In 1989, Tony sold the business to William and Carol Benner and James Spencer.
The new owners made a complimentary team with various experiences in executive
management, marketing, sales and fence/deck material and construction. In addition, many
of Rudl's long-term employees, with considerable expertise in the fencing and decking
business, remained with the company.
Today, Rudl Fencing & Decking offers fence installation and quality outdoor
products to customers throughout northern and central NJ and eastern PA. Open year-round,
Rudl is the oldest continually operating fence company in this part of NJ. Rudl employees
have encountered every type of fence installation possible. The company is fully insured,
all work is guaranteed, and unlike some fence companies that operate "out of the back
of their trucks," Rudl has regular business hours. Abundant indoor/outdoor displays,
along with employee expertise, help customers clarify their needs. Different than a
lumberyard or home center, fencing & decking are Rudl's specialties.
AFA:
Rudl Fencing & Decking is a member of the American Fence Association (AFA), the
world's largest and oldest trade association serving the fence industry. AFA offers
programs and services to fencing professionals, promoting the highest levels of
professionalism, ethics and product standards.
Believing in giving back something to the industry that has supported him for the past
decade, Bill Benner, Rudl's president, is active at the state and national levels of AFA.
Benner served as the national President of the Association during 2007-1999.
